Berkshire Manor Passes Latest Hurdle

The Alpharetta city counsel unanimously approved the annexation of Bershire Manor into the city Monday night. The final hurdle for the subdivision will occur Monday night, November 27th at a second hearing on the approval. If final approval is given, residents of Bekshire Manor will become citizens of the city of Alpharetta on December 1st. Standing in the way at last nights hearing were issues regarding the costs of repaving the streets within the community and ther necessity to hire an additonal four police officers to handle the number of residents that will be brought in to the city. Residents of Berkshire Manor believe that becoming a part of the city of Alpharetta will benefit the neighborhood in many positive ways to improve property values including the prestige of Alpharetta, improved code enforcement, excellent city services and acces to Alpharetta’s parks and recreation.
