Fall and Winter Curb Appeal

By Ryan Ward | November 5, 2007

Colder months call for different curb appealWhile Atlanta doesn’t get as cold as cities farther to the north, we do have four full seasons and and if you are trying to sell your home in the fall or in the winter, you should consider the impact that the changed landscape will have from a buyers perspective. The most immediate difference for many homes will be the added exposure and light that your home will receive. This can work in a positive or a negative way for your home. Certainly, if you have some land, it will make your lot feel larger than it does in the summer, but, it will also expose areas of your home that don’t see as much light during the summer months.

Barren trees give buyers a clean view of your home and you need to make sure that they like what they see. This is an excellent time to evaluate a few critical areas of your that may have been overlooked in the warmer months.

Winter can be a tough time to sell a home, but, it doesn’t have to be.  By executing a simple plan to add some color and recognizing the additional exposure  of your home, you can turn a slower time to sell into an opportunity for your home to stand out above the competition.

In a competitive market, the details can be the difference between a sale and stagnant listing. Which home will yours be?
