Here are the 10 Counties that make up Metro Atlanta
By Ryan Ward | August 10, 2007
I received a phone call today from someone who was looking at my Atlanta real estate website. The lady had a simple question for me that I had been asked before, but, never thought to post. She wanted to know which counties make up “Metro Atlanta”. So, here is the list:
- Cherokee
- Clayton
- Cobb
- Dekalb
- Douglas
- Fayette
- Fulton
- Gwinnett
- Henry
- Rockdale
There is a misnomer when some people are looking for Atlanta real estate statistics and some people use different information for those statistics. Of particular note and missing from the list (which comes from the Atlanta Regional Commission) is Forsythe County which includes the city of Cumming and is a very fast growing area of what most people consider Metro Atlanta. Especially those folks who drive intown down Georgia 400 and commute from the area. Forsythe also is the location of Lake Lanier and most people I know think of this as Metro Atlanta as well.
Anyways, I hope that answers this lady’s question as well as anyone else who was wondering…
