Wells Fargo Wholesale Underwiting Closes in Atlanta

By Ryan Ward | November 15, 2007

Fallout continues in the mortgage industry as Wells Fargo’s wholesale mortgage underwriting department closes its doors today. Retail offices will remain open, but, this means that there is one less place for mortgage brokers to shop loans for the best rates. This one hits home for me a little more so than some of the other closings in recent months. My wife has been an underwriter there for almost 6 years. Over the years I have had the opportunity to get to know quite a few good people at her office and I am sad to think about what will  happen to them. So to all of you that I know there, good bye and good luck in the future. If there is anything that I can do to help, please don’t hesitate to call me for a reference.
