What Kind of Homes Are For Sale in Alpharetta?

By Ryan Ward | November 14, 2007

I received a phone call yesterday from someone who asked this question. I don’t think that they were the only ones wondering either. I think Alpharetta has a reputation as a being a sort of snobbish, upscale suburb where people fear soccer moms speeding in their minivans and SUV’s to pick there kids up from school. I don’t think that way of Alpharetta at all - and I live in Alpharetta - and I drive a minivan. Homes for sale in Alpharetta vary in price and size as much as they do anywhere else in Atlanta. While I would certainly agree that that there are soccer moms and minivans, I don’t think that Alpharetta is a snobbish nor do I think of Alpharetta as a self centered area. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. People are very friendly and very family oriented.

Homes for sale in Alpharetta range from first time homebuyer communities such as Berkshire Manor, located off of Haynes Bridge Road where homes start in the high $100’s to very exclusive neighborhoods such as the Peninsula in Windward and everything in between. You can find new townhome communities and a full range of homes at every price point.

So don’t shy away from Alpharetta because someone told you something without examining the truth for yourself.

While I’m on the subject of misconceptions about Alpharetta, I would like to dispell another one:

Traffic. I drove from I-285 and GA 400 right in the middle of rush hour to Mansell road in 15 minutes yesterday.

So all I ask is that you get the facts before you make up your mind.
